Good Monday Morning Everyone!!
Quote of the Day
Help your brother’s boat across, and your own will reach the shore. – Hindu Proverb
Joke of the day
Q: How do you make an orange laugh?
A: Tickle its navel.
Topic of the day: Caring
Take a realistic evaluation of yourself. Be honest with yourself about how valuable you believe you are as a person. The way you see yourself and treat yourself is the very way others will see you and treat you. Do you see yourself as valuable, worthy of the gift of love? Do you treat yourself lovingly and as a valuable being? And most importantly, do you treat OTHERS with love? That’s the first step to feeling better about yourself. It’s ok to be truthful with yourself, though it may not be pretty! Awareness is the first and more powerful step on the path to change!
Question of the day
Does the third statement follow logically from the first two statements? Explain why or why not.
Statement 1:
All dancers are graceful.
Statement 2:
Some rocket scientists are graceful.
Statement 3:
Therefore, some rocket scientists are dancers.
Yesterday’s answer:
Ned ate the last slice of pizza. It’s impossible for Linda’s, Mike’s, or Ned’s statement to be the only one that is true. (If Linda’s statement that Mike ate it is true, then Ned’s statement is also true. If Mike’s statement that Olive ate it is true, then Ned’s statement is also true.) If Ned’s statement is true, then no one else’s statement can be true. Therefore, Ned’s statement is false.
ACT word of the day:
oblivious (adj)
Completely unaware, not mindful.
Tweety sat in his cage, whistling happily, completely oblivious to the plotting Sylvester who was sneaking up behind him.
